After writing a five book dragon series, I’m taking a little writing break from my favorite fantasy creature–but that doesn’t mean I want to stop reading about them! If you’re curious about the title, in my author bio I always start by saying that I believe there is “no such thing as too many dragons,” so…we’ll see.
Please submit one story no longer than 3,000 words or up to three poems no longer than two pages each to DragonsAnthology (at) gmail (dot) com. At least one dragon should play a vital role in all submissions. This is a crossover anthology, which means stories and poems should be appropriate for both teens and adults. (Note: There is no need to simplify your writing just because teens will be reading it!) The great thing about dragons is that they are such versatile creatures, so show me and the other readers what interesting, fun, new thing you can do with them! I love genre mashups as well.
Please do not put your name anywhere in your attachment, since all submissions will be read anonymously. In your cover letter, please include your contact information (including your full address), a brief description of why you think your piece fits the theme of the book, and a third person biography no longer than three sentences long. All stories and poems must be original and cannot be published elsewhere (including on a personal blog) before the book is released. If you are submitting found poetry, lease note that in your cover letter and be sure to include the source.
Please, no erotica, pedophilia (sex between an adult and an underage character), bestiality, necrophilia, rape or incest used as titillation, or bodily excretions or fluids.
All submissions must be received at DragonsAnthology (at) gmail (dot) com by November 1, 2018.
All contributors selected for publication in the anthology will receive one copy of the finished book, either at the launch party or sent to their home address. There is no further compensation for work in the anthology. (Note: This will be published on Createspace and available on Amazon and other online channels.)
Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
